Travel and Arrival
Travel
Getting to the UK is easy and inexpensive from mainland Europe. Once we have confirmed the work placement and accommodation for your trainees please organise flights and transfers and inform us of the arrival details.
The South West has excellent public transport links. Our nearest airports are in Exeter (45 mins) and Bristol (1.5 hours) with London airports approx. 3-4 hours travel. You can book a train/bus or TTPL can provide a private airport transfer service (advance booking is required) to and from the destination airport.

If you need assistance with the travel details we are happy to help, email our Student Coordinator and she will get back to you with suggestions of the best way to get here.

Arrival
A TTPL representative will meet your trainees upon arrival in South Devon and they will be escorted to their accommodation. They will be made welcome and receive a Welcome Pack full of helpful information on the area and places of interest.
We know that arriving in a new town and meeting new people can be an anxious time for trainees so please don’t worry we will do our best to put them at ease and make the first weeks as easy as possible.
On the Monday after arrival they will attend a Welcome Meeting where we explain the details of the life and culture in the UK. Our Student Support Officer will arrange a time to meet your trainees and take them to their workplace. This is also a great time to meet other trainees that are newly arrived.
Getting Around
We try to place trainees in accommodation near to their work placement, which could be within walking distance or a short bus ride away. We can arrange local travel passes upon request and these are distributed at the Weekly Social Meeting.
There are excellent bus and train links locally that will take them wherever they would like to go.
