Ideas for a rainy day in Devon

It’s been a stormy week here in Torbay, but luckily there are lots of things to see and do indoors! Here are some ideas of weatherproof things to do, along with some offers and deals available...

There are a number of cinemas across South Devon, including Paignton, Torquay, Newton Abbot & Exeter – Vue Cinemas offer Discounted tickets (£3.99) on a Monday – you just need to register on the Vue website

Torbay: Vue Cinema Paignton, Esplanade Road

Exeter: Vue Cinema Exeter, Summerland Gate (opposite bus station)

Great for groups and good deals to be had in both Exeter and Torquay.

Torquay – AMF, Torwood Street (near Torquay Harbour)

Exeter – Tenpin, Water Lane (near Exeter Quay)

Torquay deal: 3 games for £9.99 Monday - Thursday

Exeter deal: Festive Deal (Two games of bowling and a burger meal for £10) available in December

Escape Room

Escape Rooms have become extremely popular in recent years and there’s lots of options throughout the area:

Torquay – Esacpe Room Torquay

Paignton – Escape Paignton

Exeter – Mission Escape

Caves and underground passages!

If you’re looking for something slightly different, Torquay’s Kents Cavern, a series of caves and a Site of Special Scientific Interest, is a great place to visit on a rainy day.

Or if you’re in Exeter, another attraction hidden underground is the Exeter Underground Passages, a series of medieval passages dating from the 14th century that run their way under the city centre.
