Five 2018 Weekly Meeting Highlights
From one of the snowiest months in memory to one of the longest and hottest summers, 2018 has had it all! Here are some of our favourite Thursday activities this year along with some photos. Oh the memories…
Vintage Bus Tour
The cold snap was over and the sun was shining – all aboard the TTPL vintage bus tour. It was a memorable afternoon with stops in Brixham and some time at beautiful Broadsands beach (we even had one brave student take a dip in the sea!)
We are lucky to have a brilliant outdoor waterpark on our doorstep but good weather hasn’t always materialised. We visited Splashdown on two occasions this summer and both times were absolute scorchers. The perfect summer activity!
We try to run a boat trip at least once a year and this time we took a slightly different route. A whale had been spotted around Meadfoot, so we decided to take our chances and venture in that direction. Sadly we didn’t spot the whale but we did see seals and it was an opportunity to see the beautiful stretch of coastline between Torquay and Shaldon.
Cream Tea at Angels
We’ve had a few cream teas at various venues over the years, but Angels may take the crown for the best! A lovely setting and a variety of choices (who knew you could have a white chocolate scone?)
Dartmoor National Park is on most people’s lists of places to visit in Devon due to it’s outstanding natural beauty. Due to the rural location, it can be hard to get there outside of summer, which is why we ventured there together on a misty November afternoon. Despite the gloomy weather, it was a fantastic day out!
