Feedback from an engineering company
This weekend, we say goodbye to another fantastic group of engineering students from Germany. Following a week of language training, the eleven participants have spent the last three weeks working in various companies in Torbay and Exeter, from Railway Engineering to Industrial Mechanics.
One of the work placements, Exeter based metalwork and electronics company MSL & DSL, shared on their website this great feedback about welcoming Electronic Technician Christian:
“Christian is currently completing an apprenticeship as an electronic technician for devices and systems at RAFI Eltec in Überlingen (Lake of Constance), Germany and brought with him considerable experience of electronics assembly in a much larger company. Christian’s English is very good (yes – it really is Christian!) and he was a very knowledgeable, polite and hardworking addition to the team and a credit to his employer and the Training Partnership.
Whilst with us he also spent some time in our fabrication business and learnt to weld to a very good standard for a beginner (that would have been in part down to Amy’s excellent training skills no doubt). It was a pleasure to have Christian with us and the team all wish him well in his future career.”
We were very pleased to read that Christian offered useful skills to the company while also having the chance to learn something completely new – a great example of how this kind of experience can benefit everyone.
That’s just one example of what the group of eleven did in the last month here, but a big well done to all participants – we hope everyone had an enjoyable, educational and worthwhile experience!
