ERASMUS+ UPDATE – GOOD NEWS!

Last week our Director Wendy Williams met with Kevin Foster, Member of Parliament, Under Secretary of State for Immigration at the Home Office.

They discussed the significance and impact of Erasmus+ for all those involved. He gave TTPL his full support for our programmes in Torbay and for the UK’s continued participation after 2020.

He was also able to update us on the views of his colleagues in Parliament and the Department for Education which we are pleased to share with you in this letter.

Key points:

  • The Erasmus+ scheme is valued highly by the UK Government. Both the UK and the EU have an appetite for continuing the scheme on a reciprocal basis.
  • The Department for Education is fully exploring participation in the next Erasmus+ programme.

“I understand that your EU partners will be concerned about ease of access to the scheme following the UK’s withdrawal from the EU. My view, and the view of many of my colleagues across the House, is the Erasmus+ scheme is valued highly by the Government and the UK’s continued participation in the Erasmus+ scheme is something both the UK and the EU have an appetite for continuing on a reciprocal basis.”
